Khesh sarees are native to West Bengal. In the olden times, women used to weave together old strips of cloth along with yarn to create a new one. Hence, khesh is an appropriate example of recycling and upcycling old garments into new ones. Even today the weavers who make these sarees gather old sarees from villages for reusing. These are then torn into long thin strips. The weaver hangs these strips beside him for easy access and weaves with whichever he picks up randomly. And so, a kaleidoscope is created on a simple cotton saree with the creativity and imagination of the weaver.

These sarees are light weight and comfortable to be worn for daily use and look good and elegant for office wear as well.
